Kilburn Library Garden Project
The library has an open space at the back that has been disused for many years. The area has been cleared thanks to the probation service Operation Payback Initiative scheme, local councillors and Queens Park Police who have coordinated this. However, it is still in dire need of attention as it has overgrown again.
We were hoping to enlist the help of some volunteers to form a “Friends of Kilburn Library” to assist with the initial gardening and also with the ongoing maintenance of the area.
Once we know how many people we have to help and what skills, time and possibly equipment they can provide we will try to co-ordinate our efforts! You don’t need to be an expert (but landscape gardeners/designers are welcome!) just enthusiastic and willing to help.
We are hoping to transform it into a space that will benefit everyone and also provide a little haven for wildlife, with possibly some seating and tables to take full advantage of as much of the garden as we can.
Please consider helping, even if it is design, construction, landscaping or just clearing the overgrown weeds, as we would like to open up the garden as soon as we possibly can.
